  1. First, rename your QuickBooks Desktop company file.
  2. Open QuickBooks Desktop. Then, open the company file.
  3. Press F2 or Ctrl+1. Access Product Information.
  4. Get the file location in the File Information.

  1. Open QuickBooks.
  2. Go to the File menu.
  3. Click Open or Restore an Existing Company.
  4. Open the company file. Click on the Next tab.
  5. Select the new name for the company file.
  6. Click on the Open tab.

Step 5: Installing QuickBooks Desktop

  1. Prepare for the installation of the software.
  2. Install QuickBooks by opening the downloaded file.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions. 
  4. Accept the license agreement.
  5. Click on the Next tab.
  6. Enter your product and license numbers.
  7. Click Next and choose the appropriate installation type: Express Install or Custom and Network Install.
